Dong-Su Kim, B.S.
BS/MS candidate
I graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2020 with a B.S. in Human Biology. As an undergraduate and a pre-medical student, I met several diabetic patients in the United States and Mexico during my clinical experiences and medical service trips. I joined the Sander lab in the fall of 2019 to study molecular mechanisms of diabetes. For my thesis project, I am investigating the function of de novo DNA methyltransferases in pancreatic beta cell survival under type 1 diabetes-relevant environmental stress.
